My name is Walaa, and I’m an actor and dancer with a deep passion for the transformative power of drama in all its forms—so much so that I proudly embrace the title of "drama queen." I believe that engaging with performance art helps us explore and find meaning in life’s existential questions.
I earned my BA in Theatre Arts from the American University in Cairo and completed a two-year MFA in the Meisner technique at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City. I also trained at the SiTi Company with Ann Bogart, focusing on Suzuki and Viewpoints techniques. Currently, I’m a graduate student at Cairo Contemporary Dance School, where I’ve completed three years of specialized dance modules. Additionally, I’m participating in a master workshop on the nervous system and its regulation for actors, which enhances my ability to support fellow performers in their craft.
